What is NDIS?

According to the latest disability prevalence, 1 in 6 people in Australia have disability.

The NDIS Commission uses regulatory frameworks to continuously promote and remove barriers to quality and safety, and works together with providers, workers and behaviour support practitioners, the NDIS Commission is committed to ensuring all NDIS participants can choose the safe and quality services they deserve.

National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is an independent government/statutory agency and creates National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). In hindsight, the NDIS Commission takes lifelong approaches to support people living with long term health conditions and disabilities at an early stage which progress towards the desired goals later in life.

The NDIS exists to bring a fundamental change to the way people with disability are supported in their everyday lives. This change requires the right systems and protections to be in place to oversee NDIS services and supports.

You are eligible to access NDIS if you checks the following criteria

·      Below 65 years old

·      Living with a permanent disability that significantly impacts the ability to perform day-to-day activities

·      Be Australian citizen, hold a permanent visa or Protected Special Category Visa; and
